‘The Healer’ follows a man with an unwanted gift for healing. When he meets a teenager with terminal cancer, she unexpectedly helps him to find himself.

Alec’s (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) life in England is falling apart. ‘The Healer’, his electrical repair store, is going out of business. He owes money to the wrong people, he’s sleeping with married women, and he’ s drinking like there’s no tomorrow.

Without warning, a man named Raymond (Jonathan Pryce) shows up, claiming to be his uncle. Raymond has a proposition that could provide Alec with a clean slate: he will pay all his debts in exchange for Alec moving to Nova Scotia for one year.

Alec arrives in Lunenburg, the small rural town where Raymond owns a house. To help him make a living, Cecilia (Camilla Luddington), the local veterinarian he befriends, places an ad for him in the weekly newspaper offering his services as an electrical repairman.
In his attempt to attract business from the locals, his ad reads ‘The Healer, I fix anything electrical that is broken.’ But the ad is misprinted, and it reads as though Alec is claiming to be an actual mystical healer of people.

The townspeople flock to hire his services – but Alec rebuffs them, explaining the misprint. What’s extraordinary and unexplainable, however, is that those that do go and see Alec are cured of their ailments. The rumour spreads: he becomes known as a healer.

As much as Alec yearns to avoid being attributed any healing powers, more bizarre events keep occurring. Dogs seem absolutely fascinated with him; the local priest Father Malloy (Jorge Garcia), suffers a heart attack, dies, and then comes back to life; and a deaf old man tells his wife to stop screaming at him. Alec, in shock, discovers the family secret – he possesses the gift of healing. Alec must now make a conscious choice: to accept or reject the gift.

The arrival of Abigail (Kaitlyn Bernard), a teenage girl with terminal cancer, wise beyond her years, provides Alec with one last chance to consider his life’s purpose.

It’s a cheerful, heart-warming drama-comedy film for the whole family with a positive and hopeful message.

A year after the death of the artist, Vincent van Gogh, Postman Roulin gets his slacker son, Armand, to hand deliver the artist’s final letter written to his now late brother, Theo, to some worthy recipient after multiple failed postal delivery attempts. Although disdainful of this seemingly pointless chore, Armand travels to Auvers-sur-Oise where a purported close companion to Vincent, Dr. Gachet, lives. Having to wait until the doctor returns from business, Armand meets many of the people of that village who not only knew Vincent, but were apparently also models and inspirations for his art. In doing so, Armond becomes increasingly fascinated in the psyche and fate of Van Gogh as numerous suspicious details fail to add up. However, as Armond digs further, he comes to realize that Vincent’s troubled life is as much a matter of interpretation as his paintings and there are no easy answers for a man whose work and tragedy would only be truly appreciated in the future.

Baza endures the cruelty of being chained to other Africans inside the hold of the ship, battling starvation and malnutrition on the trip, barely making it alive to the New World. Once arriving in the New World, Baza is immediately transported to a slave auction being held at the docks. Weak and malnoutritioned, he is overlooked by the bidders and is sold in a group to a slaver who puts him on a plantation. After numerous attempts to escape the plantation, Baza is branded a trouble maker and the plantation owner sells him for cheap to a chain labor gang that is building the railroad linking the east and west part of the United States together. As history has shown, the transcontinental railroad was built by both Chinese and African slave labor, often times the two groups not segregrated and were made up of Chinese, African and Irish labor that were forced to work on the railroad as indentured servants or simply Shanghai-ed into hard labor. During this time, Baza befriends some of his Chinese compatriots, one in particular Lee who develops a deep friendship together. Baza tells him of his dream to return home to Africa one day and get revenge on his brother for selling him into slavery, and return home to his country in Africa.

Set in pre-colonial Africa, an indestructible tribe of stick-fighting warriors conquers nations far and wide. Led by a power-mongering king-cum-general, who is obsessed with being the all-powerful ruler of the land, their greed is insatiable. But their true and not-so-secret weapon is Ntsika, a super warrior, deadly with a stick. He has been in the front line for many a battle and always the last man standing. His knack for stick-fighting is the stuff that legends are made of. With every kingdom they amass, they would send two soldiers in advance, to give an ultimatum. For years they have been infiltrating kingdoms without fail…except for one. No one knows why, except for the king. For over two decades, there have been a mill of rumours, myths and legends about why the kingdom was a no-go area. Until one day, on the advice of the Great-Witch, the king would entrust Ntsika and a subordinate to go over for the crown. Ntsika takes on the arduous journey to the other side. Upon his arrival, instead of hostility, he is welcomed with great curiosity…almost eerily so. Expecting to leave some casualties along his trail, the soldiers open up a path for him to walk through. Expecting a king, he is met by the queen. He shakes off this oddity and sticks to the script. He makes the ultimatum: hand over the crown or be pummeled in a bloodshed battle. The Queen who is keenly observing him, wads off the threat and instead bursts into praise-singing. Ntsika pronounces that the two sides will go to battle.
